Firefighting zones of Flemish Brabant go for a PROVINCIAL Alarming and Dispatching, selecting VERDI-FIRE as their preferred solution

Firefighting zone Flemish Brabant West and Firefighting zone Flemish Brabant East will co-operate in the near future using a central dispatch. The central dispatch will be operated by dispatchers who will manage the firefighting and medical interventions over the whole province of Flemish Brabant.

By working like this, Flemish Brabant will be the first province in Belgium with a provincial dispatch managing the safety of 1.150.000 citizens spread over 2.100 m2 with a total of 65 Townships. Taking into account the enormous complexity of busy motorways who cross the province, big Seveso and other companies, national airport,…. A masterpiece, treated by 1.200 firefighters spread over 17 posts.

In order to manage the provincial dispatch both Firefighting zones published  their specifications approximately 1 month ago. The specifications mainly focused on strong and extensive functionalities in order to meet with the needs/requirements of a provincial dispatch, as well as on the individual accents from the two zones themselves. Another point of attention was a big flexibility of the solution towards the future. The required solution must be able to keep on supporting and managing potential changes in the organization and processes in the Firefighting zones.

Through an intensive tendering procedure different suppliers answered 580 functional and technical questions that were included in the specifications. A demonstration of the solution was also required, 35 different topics needed to be shown in order to assess the functioning, feasibility and ease of use of the presented solution.

VERDI has been chosen as the best overall solution to manage the provincial dispatch in the upcoming years.
